Danean Eme is the founder and executive director of Sunshine DayCare Center Inc. ("Sunshine"). You could say business was in her blood from a very young age. With the seed of high academic achievement nurtured in her middle school years and entrepreneurism more firmly planted during her teenage years---then sealed with a good college education, Danean has arrived at a place of professionalism and stability with her business. Danean is a lifelong Newark, New Jersey native. She continually availed herself of every opportunity to fine tune skills she would need to run a business of her own. To her credit, she has been recognized by corporate philanthropic programs in which she has participated including being honored by a major creditor. Danean continually seeks out ways to better serve both the children and their parents by periodically offering new services such as before-care and after-care for school-age children and summer camp. As a wife and mother of four, she understands the value of a nurturing environment and the commitment to find such a place. Danean is the recipient of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship 2003 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She is also a consultant for entrepreneurs starting and opening new businesses. Danean has also been written up favorably in The Star-Ledger, the Prudential Leader (in which her business is noted as "a stellar example"), and feted most recently as "Outstanding Business of the Year" at the 2nd Annual Greater Newark Business Development Consortium.
